Providing Running Water

The country of El Salvador is dangerously low on clean running water, creating a health crisis for locals in need of basic necessities. With more than 90% of the surface water in the country classified as contaminated, it is vital to make a difference for citizens suffering in this once-lush land.

SMRC was able to fund $40,000 dollars to develop water projects across El Salvador, providing clean running water to more than 2,500 homes!

Eradicating Polio

SMRC partnered with national leaders such as Bill Gates to help eradicate polio across the globe. We have worked in coordination with Rotary International to provide immunizations and medical care needed across the globe. It costs more than $100 million to conduct polio surveillance globally, meaning there is always work to be done!

Helping Families in Need

SMRC partners with numerous local non-profits to paint, clean, and furnish facilities that support families. We work hard to support all types of families as we improve apartments for Safe Place for Youth and Upward Bound House, classrooms at the local high school, and after-school activity rooms at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica.

Stopping Sex Trafficking

Our philanthropic efforts come in all shapes and sizes, including our annual wine festival in Playa Vista. Last year, our Rotary Club donated $15,000 to Saving Innocence. This Los Angeles-based non-profit works 24/7 to serve, empower, prevent, and advocate for child victims of sex trafficking.

Supporting Malibu Victims

Our club, in coordination with numerous partners across the state, worked to raise money to support victims of the Malibu fires. From food to clean water, SMRC gave back when it was needed to help those risking it all to keep our community safe.

Cleaning Up the L.A. River

Our water is precious, which is why the Santa Monica Rotary Club has partnered with the Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) to regularly plan clean-up days. We also offer photo sales, with 100% of the sales going directly to the cause.

Providing Housing with Habitat for Humanity

Our Rotary Club recently hosted a work project with Habitat for Humanity to build houses for those in need. A flourishing partnership between Rotary and Habitat for Humanity has helped to create amazing differences in communities across the country.

Funding Youth Organizations

Rotary strives to foster the future leaders of this planet and provides a range of programs and funding to support local children in our community. From our local Rotaract clubs for youth to the non-profit organizations that benefit from funding, our Rotary Club is always working hard to make a difference!

Local Business Networking

Beyond the philanthropic ventures and community projects we organize, the Santa Monica Rotary Club also hosts weekly meetings for local leaders and professionals to network. Our meetings are fun, productive, and designed to keep everyone in the loop about what we are doing next.

If you are looking for fellowship and to make a difference with your skills and resources as a business professional, the SMRC is here to provide ideal networking opportunities in an environment that focuses on community development and progressive partnerships.
