ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK  –  Carole Stein, Club Member since 2022

Carole Stein is the Publisher of three community magazines serving Santa Monica, Venice and Brentwood.

She came to publishing naturally, having been a Circulation Director at the LA Times in the heyday of the newsprint decline and the advent of the paywall, gaining over 200,000 digital subscribers before she left to join DirecTV.

In 2014, she founded Stein Marketing Solutions, helping companies engage, acquire and retain customers, with a special focus on direct-to-consumer organizations. In 2017, she launched her first magazine.

Carole earned a BA in European History from the American University in Paris, received an Executive MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School, and recently took an online strategic marketing course at USC — so you can see she is even-handed with the competing schools.

Carole and her husband David, a rabbi and editor of Jewish books, live in Santa Monica, where they bike, hike, garden, and enjoy music and time with friends.
