On Thanksgiving Day we provided a hot turkey feast for over 60 Santa Monica Police Officers on duty!
Volunteers helped set-up, serve in this buffet line, and clean up at the end! This was the traditional utensil salute to the public safety employees who work on the holiday to keep the community safe! Thank you to all our volunteers and to the Jonathan Club on the Beach for donating all the food!!  Pictured here: Iao Katagiri, President-Elect Mitchell Kraus and his son Zachary, Vlado Valkof, Bill Dawson, Nora Bohn, John Gorman, John Zurik, Past President Judy Neveau, Paul Leoni, Alan Glick, President Tom Larmore, Lisa Alexander, Erik & Nancy Jorgensborg, Jillian Alexander, co-chair Past President Dee Menzies, Bill Powell, John Dracup, and co-chair Jim Menzies.
These amazing people serve and protect our community every day, and we are so thankful for them! Especially thankful were Rotarian Monte Herring and Rolenta Sibarami, who somehow snuck into this officer shot! :)
New Member John Dracup set up the drink station!
And Bill Powell filled the warming trays with water!
Alan Glick dragged his friend John Zurik out to the event to pitch in!
Eric Schmitter brought his wife Marilyn and their son Jacob!
And Roger Davis brought a huge crew...his daughter Grace, son Clayton, wife Joy, and mother Kathleen Craig who was visiting for the holiday from Jackson, Mississippi!
It was great to see Past President Judy Neveau and President Tom Larmore!
The Apron Ladies were in full swing...Past President and Co-Chair Dee Menzies even has a Rotary apron! She was joined by Lisa Alexander, Judy Neveau and Nora Bohn!
We also had a four-legged visitor that day! No, this isn't one of the Santa Monica Police Departments K-9 unit. :)

The officers shared with us that they look forward to this every year!

It's not only the great food, but the friendly Rotary servers!

Lt. Bob Almada thanked photographer Rotarian Iao Katagiri and all the Rotarians who stood their posts on Thanksgiving!
Nora Bohn was impressed with the greeting cards made by Carlthorp School students for the officers!
Along with serving food, Roger Davis helped SMPD's Suzie Kim to decorate a tree in the lobby!

Thank you again to all our volunteers, especially to co-chairs Dee & Jim Menzies, who have successfully run this event for many years now!
