Party -The Woodwind Quartet will
be performing Holiday Music and the wonderful children from Carlthorp
School will treat us to some old favorites. Our mystery Santa Claus will
appear bearing gifts (not fines) for the deserving youngsters and maybe even a
few good Rotarians. Good Cheer and Merriment will Abound.

Buzz Mc Coy was born in San Francisco and attended Stanford University, graduating with a degree in economics. He later went on to Harvard Business School, where he received his M.B.A. Mr. Mc Coy served in Korea in the United States Army, Intelligence
Branch, and received the Department of Army Commendation Medal. He began
working for Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. in 1962. He was an owner of the

| Paul Netzel is chairman/CEO of Netzel Associates, Inc., a leading management-consulting firm he founded in 1985 specializing in work with non-profit organizations and institutions throughout the Western U.S. Paul’s community service extends beyond Rotary having served as Mayor of Culver City, CA for two terms while a city council member (1980-88). Previously, he served as Culver City Board of Education president and, most recently, held leadership positions on the boards of the Boy Scouts Los Angeles Area Council, the Culver-Palms YMCA, Goodwill Industries of Southern California, United Way and the Advisory Board of the Automobile Club of Southern California. |

This special Veterans Day Program will feature remarks by two Iraq war
veterans, US Army Spc. Shoshana Johnson, a rescued Prisoner of War, and
Marine Sgt. William Holodnak, a former - and returning - Clerk at Gelsons
Market in Pacific Palisades. Also speaking will be Colonel Joseph N.
Smith, USMC (Ret), Los Angeles County Director of Military & Veterans
Affairs, and holder of the Silver Star Medal for heroic action in Vietnam. |

October 17, 2003: Dr. James Luck - President, CEO, and Medical Director of Orthopaedic Hospital Orthopaedic Hospital is a recognized world leader in research, teaching and patient care in orthopaedic medicine, resulting in an improved quality of life for children and adults with crippling diseases for 88 years. Dr. Luck joined Orthopaedic Hospital as a volunteer in 1959, became a Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1968, and was promoted to Chief Resident in 1972. In 1989, he assumed the functions of President, CEO, and Medical Director. |

10, 2003: Steve Cooley Los Angeles District Attorney -
Crime and Prosecution in Los Angeles Steve has taken the lead in demanding that the Federal government take steps to reverse Mexico’s refusal to extradite accused criminals who face life sentences in the United States. He has also been a leader in sponsoring anti-terrorist legislation in Sacramento. Cooley obtained the passage of three bills to protect against terrorist acts and weapons of mass destruction. |
