11/02/01 Rotary District Governor Len Wasserstein -  

Prior to becoming District Governor, Len was the Chair for District 5280 Charitable Foundation. He was the Governor's Executive Aide for Carol Wylie and assisted in all aspects of her administration, with specific responsibility for Area Representatives. Under District Governor Jack Jones, he was an Assistant Governor for Vocational Service. Len has two children and three grandchildren and has dedicated his year as Governor in loving memory of his wife Annebell.

10/26/01 Brant Didden will be talking regarding his experiences climbing Mount Everest.
 
Our speaker will tell us about how he lost his expedition leader in a freak accident, and how he helped put his other team members on the summit of Everest. He will tell us how he was forced to make the decision to turn around at just over 28,200 feet when he realized his oxygen system was malfunctioning.

Don't miss this meeting, I guarantee that you will be truly moved after listening to Brant's story.

October 3, 2001, at 5:30 P.M   Clear your calendar for this Wednesday evening .  You are cordially invited to participate in the First Annual Rotary Function better known as the FARF.  The location of this gala is the lower Bel Aire Bay Club (the one on the beach) at or about the card room.  You will be treated to Steve Eorio's barbequed tritip, sausages and chicken for the carnivores, and supplements in the form of two different salads from Casa Del Mar and assorted veggies.   Wine and beer will be supplied by the Rotary Club.

You are the entertainment in that this is your chance to network with your follow Rotarians.  Who knows, a card game or two may get started.  

Come one, come all, to meet your fellow Rotarians.  You may like some of them.

August 15, 2001 - "Neighborhood Red Cross Day"    Come support our Santa Monica Chapter in their annual "Neighborhood Red Cross Day" on Wednesday, August 15, 2001.  Your donation will help the chapter continue to provide important services in Santa Monica.   A gathering of service clubs members and interested individuals is being planned for the evening of August 15, 2001.  The fun and fellowship of the gathering will provide greater visibility for the chapter and the service clubs of Santa Monica.
