John Cassese - THE DANCE DOCTOR
John Cassese, whose life story is currently in development as a feature film at Twentieth Century Fox is a man of many talents. While overseeing his own popular Santa Monica‑based dance studio, The Dance Doctor, he performs as a singer/entertainer and recording artist, works as a professional actor, and choreographs for film, stage, television, video and private parties. He also produces and performs in dance demonstrations and exhibitions for numerous celebrity parties. This summer has been ripe with activity for Cassese. He debuted to accolades his new swing CD, "A NIGHT OF SWING," at a playboy Mansion gala at which he was headlining the entertainment. At Las Vegas' Bellagio, his talents received raves at Wolfgang Puck’s very special 50th birthday party. A native New Yorker, Cassese has been dancing since his teens, inspired by the magic of Fred Astaire. He learned his first moves in the clubs of New York where he began entering and winning dance contests. Launching his professional career as a dance instructor at Arthur Murray, he segued into singing and dancing in off Broadway productions and performing as a night club entertainer with his “John Cassese Band”. After relocating to the West Coast, he focused his career on professional dance performances, choreography and dance instruction. He is especially proud of his studio where he maintains the motto, "if you can walk, you can dance." Dubbed the "Dance Doctor" for the house calls he makes, as well as the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical benefits he brings to his "patients,” he helps the most self‑conscious students shed their inhibitions and build confidence. For the last decade, Cassese and his band have provided music for Jerry Lewis' Muscular Dystrophy pre‑Telethon Extravaganza. Additionally, he has performed to capacity audiences at wrap parties ('Evita," "Broken Arrow"), night‑clubs (Tavern on the Green, Improv), hotels (The Plaza, The Four Season, Ritz Carlton, The Peninsula, The Beverly Hills Hotel) and birthday celebrations (Billy Crystal and Wolfgang Puck's 50th bashes). His corporate clients include Sony, Paramount and Twentieth Century Fox. John.
