With a Rotarian Here and a Rotarian There; Here a Rotarian; There a Rotarian: Ole McLavac had more Rotarians than he could handle...

Rotarians fully participated in the Salvation Army "Red Kettle Day." The bell ringing took place all day on Friday, December 10, 2004. At least two different Rotarians volunteered for each of the hourly shifts. This is a community-wide event with active Rotarian participation. Captain Brian West of the Salvation Army is a Rotarian. An Event Co-Chairman Bob Gabriel is a Rotarian. The Event Master of Ceremonies Clyde Smith is a Rotarian. The hosts of the counting party, PP Dick Lawrence & PP John McIntire, with First State Bank are Rotarians. Rotarians raised over $6,000 for the Salvation Army and a great time was had by all. Our Rotarian Chairman was Frank "Woof Woof" Lavac. Congratulations to Frank Lavac for another successful year.

Red Kettle Day 2004

Chairman Frank "Woof Woof" Lavac reports:

Rotary raised $6,055 this year, about $700 more than last year. The city's service clubs met at First State Bank hosted by Dick Lawrence and John McIntire. This year $22,000 was raised compared to $20,000 last year. In the annual friendly competition, Kiwanis Club took back their throne with a leading donation of $7322. Ok Paul, let's get them next year!!!

	President Elect Paul Leoni was taking notes for improving the event next year. PP John McIntire, always the host with a big smile, was having a fun evening.
The night shift included: Monty McCormick, Kai-Li & PP Hal Quigley, Monika White & Roger Goodman, Teresa Modnick , June Doy and Kris Andresen.
	How many Rotarians does it take to "man" a Red Kettle? According to Kai-Li Quigley, June Doy, Shirley Dowling and Judy Neveau -- NONE! According to Moche (Man's Best Friend) -- WOOF!
It is a tough job and somebody got to do it. David Bohn takes off his coat and rolls up his sleeves for some serious bell ringing.
	Our Event Master of Ceremonies Clyde Smith and Our Chairman Frank Lavac were caught practicing their bell ringing.
Rotarian southpaws decide to come together and ring the bell. Showing us their superior techniques are: Tish Tisherman, Jim Menzies and Mike Cates. I do believe it's all in the wrist.
