Director, Club Service Membership 2009-2010

Tim Jackman was appointed as the Chief of Police in Santa Monica, CA in December 2006. Previously he had spent nearly 24 years with the Long Beach Police Department, working in every major command, and leaving as a Deputy Chief.
Known for an easygoing, collaborative leadership style, Chief Jackman is often seen on foot, walking through Santa Monica, smiling and speaking with residents, business owners and tourists. He also has significant operational experience at all levels of police administration.
Chief Jackman has an MBA from the University of California, Irvine, and has attended the course for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University. He has attended the FBI Academy and has lectured on a variety of topics ranging from recruitment and retention of police officers to Homeland Security issues at local, state and national events.
Tim is active in the community, regularly being seen at events ranging from the St. Anne’s carnival to black tie events. Tim likes to think he lives a balanced life where family, work and friends each play a significant part of his life. Family includes wife Lisa, a Long Beach Police Lieutenant, and two sons; Andrew a junior at Long Beach State and Ryan, a high school senior. The family travels often, primarily to the lakes of Arizona and the mountains of Colorado. Tim is also an avid reader who enjoys reading a variety of books, magazines and newspapers.
