Friday, Feb 25, 2005 : Scott Hunter – Building a Better Workplace For over 17 years, Scott Hunter has been a sought-after and extremely effective professional speaker, workshop leader, consultant and coach. Since the late 70’s, Scott has been researching what it takes for people to produce extraordinary results in their personal lives and careers. Through his studies, Scott came to realize that relationships are the key to accomplishment and just about everything else a person wants in their life. Until people know how to create meaningful, quality relationships, none of their goals can be fully met, including their business goals. |

12/03/04 - Steve Hauser "The Legacy of Troop 1135" |
|
|
| In 1969 Steve Hauser, a college student and Eagle Scout in
Los Angeles, decided scouting could make a difference in the lives of
dozens of urban youth. The Scouts in Troop 1135 were rebellious black teen-agers from South Central Los Angeles. Their Scoutmaster was an idealistic white college student named Steve Hauser. Maybe the ugliest moment in the troop's 10 years was when a Scout pulled a gun on the young Scoutmaster. Or maybe when one threatened him with a knife. There were times when Scouts threw rocks at him. Once his whole troop seemed ready to attack, chanting: "Get Whitey! Get Whitey! Steve Hauser quietly surmounted these deadly showdowns. They are forgotten now. When his ex-Scouts visit, they talk of achievements or chuckle at gleeful memories. Steve will have two of his former scouts with him to help tell the story. He is in the process of writing a book with a possible screenplay to follow. This is one program you don't want to miss, be at lunch on Friday to see how we all can help make a difference! |
